Overcoming Common Discipleship Challenges in Children and Adults with ADHD

One in nine school-age children have received at least one prescription for ADHD medication, and ADHD now represents the third most common mental health condition seen in adults. Participants in this breakout will explore the relationship between neurocognitive weaknesses associated with ADHD and the unique challenges persons with ADHD experience in living a spiritually disciplined life, review common impediments to church attendance and engagement among families impacted by ADHD, identify promising approaches to discipleship in persons with ADHD that take advantage of their strengths and gifting and provide a framework for considering the use of medication among Christians with ADHD.
