Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health conditions, affecting one in nine children, one in six teens and nearly one in five adults and represent the most common disability in North America adversely impacting church attendance. In this breakout, participants will recognize common challenges to church participation for families in which one or more members have an identified anxiety disorder, explore potential “on ramps” for welcoming affected individuals and families into the local church and identify both common obstacles to spiritual growth in children and adults with significant anxiety and alternative strategies to help them grow deeper in their faith.
