Amy Hibbs, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist with 25 years of experience serving individuals with disabilities across the lifespan. Her clinical background includes geriatrics, long-term care, and inpatient rehabilitation with specialization in spinal cord injury. Amy is also the mother of two children with disabilities, a personal journey that fuels her passion for advocacy, inclusion, and active community participation of individuals with disabilities.
Amy is the co-founder of BRIDGED, a nonprofit dedicated to equipping communities with education, resources, and innovative solutions that promote disability awareness, connection, and inclusion. She is a graduate of Partners in Policymaking and has received extensive training in special education law from national experts including Pete Wright, David Bateman, and Mitchell Yell. She continues to pursue annual continuing education in behavior, assistive technology, and current issues and legislation affecting individuals with disabilities.
Amy serves on the Executive Committee of the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council and is actively involved in local and statewide legislative efforts focused on systemic change for individuals with disabilities. In 2023, she and her business partner, Allison Huffstutler, received the RespectABLE Award from Able SC for their innovative disability awareness programming in schools. They have also been selected for the National Disability Leadership Series (2026–2027), a prestigious, year-long national leadership initiative.
Together, Amy and Allison have over 25 years experience advocating with and for their children in schools, in government and in churches. Both Amy and Allison are passionate about educating people about disability and providing parents of students with disabilities the education and resources they need to support their children in schools and beyond.

She lives in Simpsonville, South Carolina with her high school sweetheart, their three children, three dogs, a turtle , and what she jokingly calls a home “one tent away from being a full-blown circus.”
